Frederick County Neighborhoods Popular for Ductless Systems

Do you own an older or historical home here in beautiful Frederick County, Maryland? If so, and if you’re looking for a cost-effective way to enjoy both heating and air conditioning in your home, it may be time to consider a ductless system. Specifically, a ductless system is able to heat and cool through the use of an outdoor condensing unit and a series of indoor air handlers that can be installed without the need for new or existing ductwork.

Learn more about the many benefits of ductless systems below, as well as some of the most popular neighborhoods for this technology across Frederick County.

Benefits of Ductless Systems in Older Homes Around Frederick

There are many reasons why ductless systems are so popular in older homes. For starters, many older homes weren’t built with HVAC ductwork in place because HVAC technology simply hadn’t been invented yet. Unfortunately, adding ductwork to these buildings retroactively can be very difficult and costly—which is why many owners of older homes in Frederick County rely on radiant heat or other system types for heating and/or cooling. Likewise, homes that have been designated as historical may have legal protections that prevent homeowners from adding ductwork even if they wanted to.

A ductless system is a logical answer for many of these homes. Without the use of any ductwork, these systems are able to deliver both heat and air conditioning. Meanwhile, individual air handlers have their own temperature control, so homeowners can enjoy the flexibility of setting different temperatures in different spaces of the home to cut down on energy costs while staying comfortable. And of course, because there is no need for ductwork installation, ductless systems are incredibly cost-effective.
